Music, literature and web design...
Music

It began way back in 1988 in Grand Rapids Junior College (in Michigan, USA), when I decided to take guitar lessons, hoping to learn some chords. Quite unexpectedly, classical guitar stole my heart and a few years later, I decided to pursue music as a career, first as a guitarist and later also as a composer. The solo guitar piece Luminescence, which I wrote in 1992, marks the beginning of my career.
My music is often described as filmic. It is sometimes rhythmic and syncopated and sometimes reflective, introverted and lyrical. It is inspired by a mixture of jazz, pop, minimal and classical music.
Web Development
In 2005, I took a course in web development and have been building web sites since that time for a wide array of people. All websites I make have a content management system built in, which allows clients to edit their own content. I use the open source Contao CMS and sometimes WordPress.
I use open source technologies as much as I can, so besides Contao and WordPress (which are both open source), I also run the Ubuntu Linux operating system on my laptop and desktop computers (instead of Windows), and make use of programs like Gimp instead of Photoshop. Basicly, if you want to, you can do all your computing with open source software.
Literature
During my High School English class, I got the idea that I wanted to write a book someday. After several failed attempts, I finally had my first book, an autobiographical story, published in 2007 by a Dutch publisher from Amsterdam called SWP Books.
I would like to write another book about my experiences and observations in music.
